Due to a secluded life, Yuki has a problem with dealing with people in general. The tiny little girl is, basically, the epitome of awkwardness and shyness. When before someone she doesn't know, Yuki will basically freeze up. Get nervous. Panic. Start speaking in Japanese. Like a wild animal of small port, Yuki must be approached slowly and calmly in order not to scare her off.
It's not like she hates people, however. She rather likes them even. Just... not near herself. Even so, Yuki is but a sweet, innocent little girl from the core. She likes cute things, dressing up, colorful views, nature, etc. Like a normal young woman, but without the social skills. On the other hand, she hates violence, dark places, scary stuff and nosy, loud people.
Yuki has a particular love for arts and handicraft, often using the excess of free time she has due to a somewhat lacking social life to, instead, express herself through whatever her tiny little hands can create. This goes from paintings and scribbles to clothing, even little plastic figures of just about anything. As long as it's created by hand, Yuki probably has tried hers at it.
Once someone gets through her shell of awkwardness, however, and gets to know Yuki, they'll have gained a great friend. Despite not being much, Yuki will wish for nothing but the best for her friends and she'll gladly help towards that if she can. She's been taught to be nothing but good to others, and she'll hold those ideals close in her heart. Goodness, justice and all that, Yuki deeply believes in the better side of life and that is one of the reasons she decided to attend DWMA.
That being said, not even with a friend she'll be able to make small talk easily. Yuki will still be pretty fidgety and uncertain of what is right or wrong to say. She believes herself to be a boring person to be with, which makes her want to try and be better, which in turn makes her nervous all over again. But, get Yuki going on about, say, sewing, arts or some other topic she's interested in and she won't stop, often apologizing in the end for blabbering for so long.
That point brings out another issue with the young girl, her self confidence. Yuki has neither that nor self esteem. With her childhood, one might expect the little girl to be a self centered spoiled brat. However, it's quite the contrary. She was raised just right, although something about never coming in contact with anybody but her family never taught her the feeling of believing in herself. Instead, she just learned all about appreciating what others can do for you and returning the favour.
Lastly, when entering DWMA, Yuki decided to go by the surname "Saki", from the characters "Blossom" and "Hope", believing it could blossom some hope in herself.
APPEARANCE
HAIR COLOR: Blonde | EYE COLOR: Blue | BODY BUILD: Minuscule | ETHNICITY: Mixed |
Small in stature and expectedly fragile from her aspect, Yuki is tiny girl whose size belies her age. While looking pre-teen, the young blonde is not that young, being past 18 years already. On the other hand, her long, long hair, capable of reaching past her backside if straightened, might just possibly be the only characteristic that fits her age. Fittingly, she possesses a tiny, round head, with small features all around: a small nose, a small mouth and even ears. Finally, she has deep blue eyes and naturally rose cheeks.
As far as clothing goes, Yuki possesses a very diverse wardrobe. But it's a pretty unique one, especially because Yuki makes most of the clothing she wears herself. A majority of those clothes aren't what one would call "commercial" or "plain", but they aren't exactly flashy either. Yuki goes the extra mile to make her clothes much cuter and more elegant than the usual bunch, but without making them stand out too much.
Additionally, her soul is of a light pink hue, with a small gentle smile written on the soul's face as well as kind white eyes and pair of little blushes below. When Yuki is severely stressed, it usually takes on a inverted vee mouth, closing it eyes as well.
HISTORY
Yuki was born and raised in Japan, but not in a very usual way. The blonde girl originates from a rather noble, high standard Japanese family which still behaves in a very old fashion. While being "nobles", the Aoi family doesn't hold any real political power. Instead, they are simply considered and respected as nobles for the family's history as a military strength of their prefecture in the past. This strength of theirs comes not only from the great warriors they are able to train but their lineage of Demon Weapons capable of multiple transformations.
As such, the higher-ups in the family attempt to keep a "excellent quality of blood" amongst the offspring. This usually results in arranged marriages with other noble families. Haruka, Yuki's mother, was involved in this system. She wasn't a fan of it, not in the least. Not like she had much choice in the matter, however. Specially because her mother, Yuki's grandmother, was one of said higher-ups who take part in organizing most of the family business, arranged marriages included.
Haruka was a lady through-and-through, though a bit more spunky than her mother would've liked. Being a perfect example of a Japanese woman; pitch black silky hair, lean curvy figure, good manners; on top of being the result of another arranged marriage with a witch family, Haruka was preciously taken care of and saved for an important occasion. That time had come.
The Aoi family had already made connections with most of Asia and they had their eyes on Europe for the longest time. It was decided to start big and the Aoi family entered in contact with England. One of the families interested in starting such a relationship was the Bell family, to which the Aoi happily accepted their requests.
And so, Haruka was set up in a marriage with George Bell, an upstanding blonde English gentleman. None of the two were exactly happy with the occasion as much as their parents, although George seemed a lot more submissive than the spunky lady attitude Haruka had. As with most arranged marriages, however, the two had little choice in the matter and barely any time was wasted in joining the young couple and, as a result, the two families.
Haruka and George were, then, given a traditional mansion to live in, as in most arranged marriages the Aoi family prepared. From then on out, the two were to live together and continue with their families' traditions. However, until the current higher-ups of each of their families decided to pass on their duties to the younger generation, there wasn't much for them to do but... copulate. It was one of the agreements in the marriage, after all, creating offspring.
Haruka clashed with George more than a few times, his shy demeanor irritated the Japanese woman. Often was commented that the two had their supposed personalities traded. However, despite the disputes, George's generosity and loving kindness broke a hole in Haruka's icy shell. Before noticing it, the two had fallen for each other like "a ton of bricks", as Haruka describes when reminiscing. Suddenly, the thought of having a child or two didn't seem so bad.
It wasn't long until Yuki came into being. George blissfully agreed to give her a Japanese name after knowing what it stood for. Indeed, "Happiness" was the perfect name for their little girl. The baby appeared to have inherited the mother's long, perfect hair, though the color was the father's. Her small size's origin was suspected to be her grandmother's genes. Although, none of her headstrong mentality. In fact, Yuki seemed to be shy and polite like her father.
But most importantly, Yuki was confirmed to possess a very special trait of the Bell family, one that unluckily hadn't manifested itself in quite a few generations... the Healing Wavelength. Not only that, but she was a Weapon as well and had inherited some of her mother's magical nature, resulting in a very fruitful combination of both families' more desirable traits. Thanks to this, Yuki was very carefully taken care of.
In the earliest stages of her childhood, Yuki had all the attention in the world from her parents. Since both had yet to be assigned to any family position, Haruka and George were able to raise Yuki just the way they wanted. With one exception, that being Yuki having to be home-schooled, which was part of tradition in the Aoi family for offspring to be not only raised but taught by those of their own blood. As such, Yuki was taught by her own parents and sometimes a trained teacher, of the Aoi family obviously, when more professional methods were required.
One could say Yuki had it all growing up. Her parents were always with her, she was surrounded by caring butlers and maids, money and resources weren't a problem. Haruka and George simply wished they could have Yuki go and meet her own friends, rather than only meeting with other family member's children every once in a while. Especially because that didn't seem to help the blonde child's awkwardness and shyness problems.
By the age 18, Yuki still hand't manifested her Weapon genes. A worrisome situation, probably caused by the girl's weak confidence. More than petty relations between the families or coincidences or whatever, George and Haruka were more worried what would happen to their little girl because of this. By the order of Yuki's grandmother, Yuki was to be sent to DWMA to learn how to control her power and possibly even grow stronger, representing both sides of her family as a Deathscythe.
Yuki's parents were not too happy about it, for it was too much of a culture shock to the young girl. First they demanded Yuki to grow in seclusion and now they want to send her to a school full of not-too-sane people by herself? Their complaints were met with a dry "Yes." followed by the preparations to send Yuki off. Taking in account she had learned how to talk in English, cook, clean and basically how to take care of herself, it was thought she was more than ready. But Haruka knew better, as did George. Yuki wasn't emotionally prepared.
It was then that Yuki stepped up. Looking her parents in the eyes, the little girl assured them she could do it. If it would make them and Grandmother happy, then she would do anything. Her parents still didn't want her to go, but after seeing their child make such the big decision to accept the burden herself, they couldn't bring themselves to deny her. It was so that Yuki was finally confirmed to attend DWMA as a fully fledged student in Class 5, ready to begin learning and growing as not only a Weapon, but as a human being.
However, starting out was a bit harder than Yuki had hoped for. Not only was she having a hard time tapping into her weapon abilities, but socializing with the other students was proving to be near impossible. Not many had the patience to deal with her inability to speak properly and general lack of personality. Most of the times, she was dismissed as a young kid and mostly ignored. Let's just say, it did wonders on her self esteem.
After a few months of stagnant development when it came to her abilities, both magical and as a Demon Weapon, quite a few teachers were ready to place her in Class 6. However, word of another student with difficulties was suddenly brought up to the young girl. Tessa Rigby, as fairly experienced Meister of Class 2 whose unique wavelength rejected resonance with other souls. As for why this concerned Yuki, it was because of her own special soul, possessing the Healing Wavelength.
Somewhat ironic that a partner was being arranged for her, Yuki thought, considering her families' traditions. Should it succeed, she would even be placed in Tessa's class in order to catch up. Though, the young weapon had little hope it would work out. Her lacking self confidence and social phobia caused her wavelength to be extremely weak and stiff, hampering connections with other souls. Upon hearing the details of Tessa's case, however, something changed. It wasn't really about whether her own capacities were enough. Being alone for so long... It must be so hard and so sad. If she really was the only one who could help... the only chance for that student... she would try her best.
And thus, the two were arranged to meet. At first, Yuki was rather intimidated by the idea of having a student so ahead of her start depending on her, despite the failure of a weapon she was. Tessa seemed rather displeased with the idea of being partnered with a weapon who couldn't even transform, but she hadn't much choice. She didn't verbalize it, but even Yuki could tell. It was disheartening, specially because it was true.
But thinking of the whole reason she decided to join DWMA other than to please her family, her wish to spread peace and happiness with her special gifts... If she could start now, with this person... It gave her a short burst of determination. Having initiative for the first time since entering DWMA, Yuki reached out to the female meister, taking the other student's hands in her own much tinier shaking hands. Stuttering, she finally spoke.
"I-I'm sorry for being... such a d-di-disappointment... But... I... I re-really want to help... so... I-If you would please have me... I... I will try my best..."
The tiny weapon knew she would have to hold faith in the other girl if there was to be any hope they resonated. So, Yuki believed in Tessa. Slowly, the two began indeed communicating with on another. Unfortunately, Tessa's erratic wavelength quickly rejected the other presence with a shock.
However, something had clicked within the young weapon. She could feel she was on the right track, some kind of instinct, a gut feeling told her so. Reaching out for Tessa's soul once more, Yuki embraced it tenderly. The pain resurged once more, but she endured it. That close to her very soul, Yuki could feel the meister's feelings. Distrust, disdain, indignation... all rightfully justified. But she was there to put an end to these feelings.
After a short while, the pain was no more. Tessa's soul had been calmed and their wavelengths were synchronizing. Nay, they were resonating. So much so that the stimuli of the resonance unlocked Yuki's abilities, triggering her first transformation. They were both surprised, but there it was, a complete weapon form. The two girls were able to trust in each other after all.
It was that day that this partnership was formed, and their life together began.

ABILITIES
Weapon Abilities
Healing Wavelength: Yuki possesses a remarkable soul that emanates a Healing Wavelength. People possessing such a wavelength are few and far between, but the tiny blonde is one of them. Such an ability is able to calm people when resonating with them, be their ailment Madness, Witch magic or even an issue within themselves. On top of that, she herself is specially resistant to the same ailments. Thanks to her wavelength, Yuki is able to enter the person's very soul and heal whatever is needed. (Intermediate)
Blessed Sword: Yuki's first weapon form consists of a curiously elegant sword, mystifyingly changing colours, from a maroon hue then to a light pink, only to change back It would stay each colour only for about five seconds then change back slowly in between the colours.
Additionally, she is incapable of partial transformation.
Tempest: In her sword form, Yuki is able to resonate and amplify her meister's wavelength into a concentrated energy wave. This wavelength is shot out when her wielder swings themselves in a elegant spin attack. Though, at the moment, it barely goes beyond the sword's range, so it only adds to the swing's power, not range. (Beginner)
Magic Abilities
Healing Touch: While somewhat plentiful, the magic within Yuki isn't very flexible and used only capable of healing. Not that she would rather have another type. With it, Yuki is able to heal wounds and restore wavelength to the intended target upon touch. (Beginner)
