PERSONALITY
Midori is a very complicated person, she is a mix of cliches and irony. Friendly and empathetic, Midori tries to understand everyone's feelings and point of view. Sometimes however, she can be very cold despite her empathetic nature. Other times she can be overly aggressive with people. These things depend more on the person they are directed to rather than herself. She isn't the type to force her emotions on others, rather she picks up and responds to the emotions of those around her. She has a holds a high value on her morals, which are inherently good despite being a bit skewed. Midori has always tried to do the right things for the people around her, even if it was the wrong thing for herself. She is the type of person to let people tear her to pieces and never say a word in her own defense, but if she happened upon someone enduring the very same thing she would jump to their defense quickly.
The weapon also has a hard time with being quick to draw conclusions, though she keeps them to herself most of the time to avoid shoving her own foot down her throat. Midori's most prominent personality flaw is the fact that she is so self depreciating. Most of the time she doesn't need to wait for someone to tear her down and make her feel bad about everything she says or does because she's already done it herself. As she's walking around the city the girl beats herself for still not having even one real friend. She sometimes curses her abilities and wishes that she had a more interesting or unique power. She chastises herself for almost every self depreciating thought she has, which doesn't help the girl to become less harsh on herself.
The thing that bothers the girl the most about herself is her loneliness, which she hides behind a happy face. Being in the city basically alone is taking it's toll on the young female. She has no family in Death City, and no friends. Often the girl contemplates giving up and leaving the city entirely. The urge to give up and run comes over the girl too often and is only controlled by the fear of disappointing herself. Another fault of the girl's is her inability to talk about her feelings with others. She will change the subject to something, anything, else and refuse to change it back. Getting the girl to talk about how she feels is a feat that could be comparable to moving mountains. Her high empathy can sometimes be a drawback if she is around someone with burgeoning emotions. If it gets to the point where she feels like she is being sucked into their funk then she will do whatever she has to to remove herself from the situation. Be it a lame excuse ("Oh wow, look at the time! I think I left my oven on and I can hear my cat meowing to tell me it's bath time." or "I need a pickle.") or faking getting sick ("I had some bad shrimp for lunch and I think I may blow chunks, so bye.").
Midori relaxes by walking running, and standing in the back of rooms doing nothing because she's terrified to talk to anyone for fear they'll actually respond, and spending time with her friends(if she had any). Midori has a very soft spot for candy. Giving the girl candy is a perfect way to get her to warm up to, unless that candy is banana or vanilla flavored then she may tell you fuck off... politely. Her love of candy stems from her memories of her mother, which are few and faded.

HISTORY
Midori was born outside of Death City, but not in any major city. They lived on the outskirts of a small village like town that looked at them with disdain and mild disgust. The city is not nearly as important as the tragedy that shaped her life. Her mother and father were very reclusive people and preferred to live outside of the city rather than inside. The family would travel to the city when they needed food or supplies. Around the young and ripe age of four Midori became seriously ill and could not travel to the city. Her father opted to stay behind with the child while her mother left for the city alone. Her father answered the door when the few people of the nearby city who didn't think they were abominations brought them the news. It was a hard conversation, the one where a father has to tell his only daughter that her mother would never be coming home. The worst thing was the tears, the first time she had seen her father cry in her entire life. It was ingrained in her mind. Her father, the strong one, cried the whole time he held her. This was when the young girl first learned that the world was harsh and unforgiving. Later in her life the girl would learn that her mother had been on a trip to town when she had been attacked by a group of locals that abhorred meisters and weapons. The men, and weapon, had chased the woman down, cornered her, and attacked her. Seeing as the woman had been a gun type weapon, she had no partial transformation, she was unable to defend herself against such a large group.
She and her father kept living in that house, in Annapolis, Maine. As the girl grew older most of the memories of her mother faded and instead of days she began to only the moments that had meant the most to her. At her insistence her father started to tell her about her mother’s strange abilities. He told her about meisters, humans that wielded weapons and protected the world from evil. He explained that those weapons were people like they were, who had feelings and dreams, but could turn into weapons. He spun these tales and went on to tell her what a wonderful thing it was, but what a terrible burden it put on the person. He told her about the academy, about her mother’s great adventures. The people she helped, and the ones she could not save.
While she had not yet shown any signs of being a weapon or meister Midori’s first ability presented itself at at the rather young age of seven. She didn't wake up with tentacles or anything like that, no, it was a rather subtle thing really. One day when Midori was playing outside in the sun she realized that parts of her considerably long hair were sharp and almost clear and that if she concentrated on them hard enough she could manipulate them just by thinking about it, and sometimes without. Her father began immediately working with the young girl on ways to control her emotions and her gift, being that the two seemed to be closely intertwined at times. There was many a time where the girl would accidently stab or cut herself on the sharp sides or points of the crystals she created with her hair. After a while Midori found that as her ability grew so did the control over her own hair. Instead of just being able to harden, sharpen, and change her hair she discovered that she could also control the movement of her hair, as if it was alive and moved on her command. A few years later the two also discovered that she had a talent for manipulating and creating crystals as well.
One day, a sunny almost normal day, the girl went on a trip to town. She remembered it quite well, a trip for vegetables and such for a dinner that she never ate. The girl's sense of direction was useless as she tried to find her way through the town, having only been there a few times with her father. He was asleep, and he had no idea the girl had gone out on her own. She wanted to cook him dinner for his birthday. Midori knew that he would not have approved of her traveling to the city on her own so she had waited for him to fall asleep. Unsurprisingly the girl had gotten lost, and as if fate wasn't cruel enough the young weapon found herself cornered by a group of locals, just as she assumed they had done to her mother. Her attacker were mostly rowdy teens with a bone to pick. Something, something, fear induced slur. The girl tried to defend herself as they advanced upon her, earning herself scratches and bruises as she scrambled backwards. She lost her balance and fell, and as they began to tower over her the girl felt something inside of her click into place,or rather slam into place, and then her whole body clicked out of place. Her body fell to pieces, though not really. A flash of light blinded her and she felt herself shrinking, reforming. She changed, and ended up lying useless on the ground. By some miracle her father had noticed her absence quite quickly and had set out after her, arriving soon after the girl shifted for the first time. He made the teenagers leave, forcefully, and sat beside her until she shifted back. This being after he tried to pick her up and failed, quite horribly.
She waved goodbye to her father a week later as she boarded a train for Death City, home of the DWMA. Midori's father raised her to be strong, making her realize that hard work was worth the effort in the end. Though the girl was able to care for herself she had remained unhealthy until she was fifteen years old, which in turn delayed her entrance into the academy. When she returned to full health Midori decided, at her father's persistence, she would leave her home and join the DWMA. She remembered the smile on her father face, and the pain behind his eyes. During those years between her mother’s death and her departure Midori learned so much from her father about the academy and the outside word. The two had gone back and forth for hours on end until Midori's eyes would grow heavy. In the moments they shared Midori realized that even though the world was harsh and cold there was a great amount of warmth and love in it as well.
Presently Midori lives in the dorms with her fellow students. She spends her time attending classes where she tries as hard as she can to get better and maybe attract a partner, walking and running the track, and silently standing in the back of the firing range because she’s too chicken to actually sign out a gun and fire it.

ABILITIES
Hypersthene: Midori has no partial transformation, being that her weapon form is made of some many co dependent parts. Her full weapon form is that of a lightweight long range sniper rifle that fires .30 CALIBER/7.62MM (.308) 175 GR.
Diamond Dust: While resonating Midori has the ability to cool down, or rather ice the bullets fired from her weapon form. These bullets will shatter upon impact, leaving shards of ice suspended in the air around their target. They will slowly fall, like snowflakes, though they will be sharp and deadly to anyone trying to make their way through the until they "melt." (level: beginner)
Ultrasonic: Midori will fire faster, with less recoil, though, the gauge of the bullet goes down to allow for faster fire. However if the gun is fired too fast for too long their is a high chance of the gun overheating, if the gun overheat the chances of it becoming jammed increase dramatically. (level: intermediate)
Riptide: While in weapon form Midori has the ability to create crystals bullets. These bullets, instead of shattering on impact with a target, shatter as soon as they pass out of the barrel. Given the momentum of just being fired these shards of hard crystal travel at fast speeds and have the ability to rip through walls that are less than half a foot thick. The shards generally stay grouped together. (level: intermediate)
crys·tal
ˈkristl/
noun
a piece of a homogeneous solid substance having a natural geometrically regular form with symmetrically arranged plane faces.
CRYSTALLOGRAPHY: This ability allows Midori's hair to have a mind of it's own, or something like that. While she can control this ability it is closely tied to her emotions. If the girl loses control of her emotions she may lose control of her ability. The length of Midori's hair is a huge advantage for the girl. The length of her crystals depends on the certain part of her hair that she is transforming. In example, the shorter the hair, the shorter the crystal and vice versa. These crystals can be broken, though the girl will attempt to avoid this at all cost as it results in the damage and breakage of her actual hair. While not as hard as diamonds, Midori's crystals can bare a good amount of pressure before they finally give in. She can make the formation sharp and long or short and jagged or even curved if she wanted, though the shape is limited to the most basic of crystal formations. Midori cannot, no matter how hard she tries, manage to detach the crystals from her hair. Any attempt to remove them in their hardened state results in the removed section reverting back to it's original form. (level: intermediate)
NUCLEATION: This is the ability that allows Midori to create crystals out of thin air. The size, shape, color and type of the crystal depends on how the girl is feeling when she conjures the object. This magical ability, like her other, relies heavily on the girl's emotions. This ability can be used for many things. It's a hobby of the girl's to try creating different crystals. In battle, this attributes to the formation of her crystal bullets. When not in weapon form the girl could use this ability to create shards of crystal to use as her own weapon in a fight.
